CPI(M) worker’s murder: 3 held

The police have arrested three RSS activists in connection with the murder of CPI(M) worker Mathilakath Shihabudheen, 38, at Thirunellur on Sunday night.

The investigation team, led by Assistant Police Commissioner, Guruvayur, R.K. Jayachandran Pillai, arrested Peringad RSS sakha mukhya shikshak Naveen, 22, and Rahul, 24, and Vaishakh, 28 of Chukku Bazaar.

Two more persons involved in the case are absconding.

Shihabudheen, Thirunellur CPI(M) branch member, who was going home on a motorbike along with his friend Biju, was attacked by a five-member gang at Thirunellur. While Biju escaped unhurt, Shihabudheen succumbed to his injuries.

According to the police, Shihabuddhin was involved in the murder of an RSS leader Vinu.
