A local committee office of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Taliparamba came under attack in the early hours of Saturday.

C. Kunhambu Smaraka Mandiram at Kuttikkol near Taliparamba, which had been inaugurated by CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan last month, suffered damages when a group of miscreants set its front door on fire and smashed windowpanes. Black oil was also poured on the party office. The CPI(M) alleged that Indian Union Muslim League activists and Popular Front of India workers were behind the attack.

Superintendent of Police K.P. Philip visited the spot. The police has initiated a probe into the incident.
