CPI to lead struggle

January 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - KOTTAYAM:

CPI State secretary Pannian Ravindran has said that the party will lead the agitations to prevent corruption-tainted Finance Minister K.M. Mani from presenting the annual budget.

He was speaking to the media on Saturday after releasing the logo of the next State conference of the party scheduled here in February.

He said Mr. Mani would push the State into a financial crisis if he was allowed to present the next budget as the UDF was exploiting the budget to reap money from interest groups.

The CPI leader alleged that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was following a soft Hindutva stance to make political gains in the coming elections.

Party national executive member Kanam Rajendran, State Council member V.B. Binu, district secretary C.K. Saseendran and others participated.
