February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - Thrissur:

A couple was found shot dead in their house at Olari, near here, on Friday. The deceased were Pambungal Subrahmanian, 58, a Gulf returnee, and his wife Sushama, 53. The police suspect that an altercation between Subrahmanian and his wife over some property dealings led to the incident. According to the sources at Town West Police, Sujith, son of the couple, found the doors of the house closed and television blaring at high volume when he returned home. But when nobody opened the door, he called his sister Sujitha, who had gone for work. They heard the sound of a gun shot when they were standing outside the house. They called the police for help. But before the police arrived, Sushama was gunned down by Subrahmanian before he killed himself, the sources said. A licensed double barrel gun was found from the house.
