Congress responsible for price rise: Gadkari

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari said here on Sunday that the Congress government at the Centre was responsible for the skyrocketing price rise in the country.

Addressing an election rally of BJP candidates in the district at Fort Maidan, he said “there was price rise whenever the Congress was in power.” But when the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by BJP was in power at the Centre, there was no price rise, he said.

He said during the Congress rule, 10 lakh farmers had committed suicide. Militancy and terrorism had grown posing danger to the security and integrity of the country, he said.

Mr. Gadkari said in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the BJP would come to power as the party had a development vision to take India to the path of progress in the 21st century.

He said the BJP would provide a corruption-free government and schemes like Andyodaya would be implemented for the cultural and literary development of the country.

The meeting was presided over by BJP district secretary C. Krishnakumar.
