Cong will have no truckwith Mani: K.C. Joseph

Says Mani has stabbed the Congress from the back

The Congress will no longer have any truck with Kerala Congress (M) leader K.M. Mani and his son Jose K. Mani, who have stabbed the Congress from the back, deputy leader of the Congress legislative party K.C. Joseph has reiterated.

Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Mr. Joseph said that Mr. Mani should no longer think that he would ever be welcome to the Congress-led UDF again and that what he did to the Congress in the Kottayam district panchayat president election on Wednesday was nothing but blatant self deception.

The Congress would not look to Mr. Mani for forming any political alliance hence. Mr. Mani had several options before him as he was welcome to join the LDF or the BJP. Perhaps, the BJP might be a better option for him as Mr. Jose K. Mani had already been in talks with the BJP. “Just leave us alone,” Mr. Joseph, said.

Mr. Mani would pay heavily for the blow he dealt on the Congress because even his own party leaders were not supportive of his or his son’s actions, he said. He welcomed the stance taken by P.J. Joseph and Mons Joseph, both Kerala Congress (M) MLAs, on the issue.

Mr. Joseph said that he would like to know what wrong the Kottayam District Congress Committee had done to Mr. Mani. In order to justify his deception, Mr. Mani was trying to lay the blame on the Kottayam DCC.

Mr. Joseph asked CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to clarify if he still stood by his earlier allegations against Mr. Mani.
