CM to open Yogakshema Sabha State meet tomorrow

Chief Minister,V.S.Achuthanandan, will inaugurate the three-day annual State meet of the Yogakshema Sabha at Muthoor near Thiruvalla on Friday.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the Yogakshema Sabha State president, Akkeeramon Kalidasa Bhattathirippad, said the three-day meet would be held at the two venues of Sreevallabhapuri (NSS High School grounds) and Sree Sankara Nagar (Sree Bhadra auditorium) at Muthoor.

He said the sacred torch lit from the sanctum sanctorum of Mallikarjuna Temple at Kasaragod by Radhakrishna Adiga, the portraint of Adi Sankaracharya brought from Kalady and the organisatinal flag handed over by Uthradomtirunaal Marthanda Varma of Kowdiayr Palace at a function held at Kanyakumari will reach Thiruvalla on Thursday afternoon.

The sacred torch, Adi Sankaracharya’s portrait and the flag will be brought to the meeting venue in a ceremonial procession from Thiruvalla Brahmaswom Madhom on Friday morning.

Senior Sabarimala Tantri, Kandaratru Maheswararu, will light the ceremonial lamp and Kalidasa Bhattathirippad will hoist the ceremonial flag at Sree Sankara Nagar in the morning. Subrahmanyan Namboodiri, chief priest at Manarassala Nagaraja Temple, will install the portrait of Adi Sankaracharya at the meeting venue.

The Chief Minister will inaugurate the meet at 10 am. Araylkizhu Subrahmanyan Namboodiri and Velliyode Sankaran Namboodiri will jointly lead the Vedic prayer Sankarananda Swamiyar of Thrissur Thekkemadhom Mooppil willdeliver the benedictory address at the inaugural function. Mr Bhattathirippad will preside over the meet.

Mr Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri, lyricist, will inaugurate the arts festival and Mr P.K.Narayana Panicker, Nair Service Society general secretary, will release the souvenir on the occasion. Mr Anto Antony, MP, Mr Mathew T.Thomas, Mr Joseph M.Puthusserry, MLAs, Mr Kumanam Rajashekharan and Mr P.S.Nair, Central Travancore Development Council chairman, will also address the inaugural meet.

Women’s meet

Aswathi Tirunaal Gowri Lakshmibhai of Kowdiar Palace will inaugurate the women’s meet, later in the afternoon. Ms Savitri K.Namboodiri, Vanitha Yogakshema Sabha president, will preside the function.

Ms Aysha Potti, MLA, will deliver the keynote address. Dr Devaki Antharjanam, Thalayolapparambu Devaswom Board College principal, Prof Devasena.T.R, Prof Indiradevi and Prof Radhamani, academics, will also address the meet.

Tantri at Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple, Chennas Divakaran Namboodiripad, will perform the Ashtami-Rohini puja, later, in the evening.

Mr P.C.Vishnunath, MLA, will inaugurate the youth meet on Saturday forenoon and Mr Rahul Eeswar of Thazhamon Madhom will deliver the keynote address.

Industry seminar

Industries Minister, Elamaram Kareem, will inaugurate the industrial seminar to be held at 11.30 am. Dr P.V.S.Namboodiri, former chairman of Hindustan Latex Limited, will preside over the function.

Mr Devadas Namboodiri, managing director of Nagarjuna Ayurvedics, Mr N.P.P.Namboodiri, managing director of Sreedhareeyam Netra Chikitsalayam, Mr N.D.Damodaran, chief managing director of Yogakshemom Group in Thirssur, Mr Narayanan Namboodiri , managing director of Kanyakumari Baywatch and Mr Vishnu Namboodiri, director of Spintech at Mannar will take part in the seminar on `Brahmins and

industries’.

Mr Kotta Sankara Sarma, All India Brahmin Federation president of will inaugurate the community meet to be held on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Mullanezhi Sivadasan Master, former president of Yogakshema Sabha, will preside the meet.

Devaswom Minister, Kadannappally Ramachandran, will be accorded a reception on Sunday forenoon. Justice V.Giri of Kerala High Court will inaugurate the children’s meet at 11.30 am.

Union Minister for Agriculture, K.V.Thomas, will inaugurate the valedictory meet, later, at 4.30 pm. Prof P.J.Kurien, Congress(I) chief whip in Rajya Sabha, will deliver the keynote address.
