Class on ‘search and seizure' held

The businessmen of Kozhikode had an eye-opening session on the nature of income tax searches and related issues here on Thursday.

Malabar Chamber of Commerce organised the class on ‘Search and seizure' in which the former chairman of Western India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and partner of KPRD Associates Dilip Shah gave a detailed account of the hierarchy of the Income Tax Department, sources of information that lead to searches, and related laws.

Chamber president Anoop Narayanan presided over the meeting. CEO and partner of KPRD Associates V. Gautam, executive Committee member of the chamber C. Mohan and honorary treasurer N. Ummer Koya were present on the occasion.
