Neera, a sweet white-coloured sap tapped from coconut tree, and the sale of its value-added products will be formally launched at a function here on Sunday.
According to an official release here on Saturday, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would launch the product and inaugurate the distribution of licence to various agencies to produce neera.
Finance Minister K.M. Mani will deliver the keynote address and formally launch the value-added products of neera. Agriculture Minister K.P. Mohanan will launch the distribution of tools meant for neera production.
The various value-added products that will be launched include organic coconut palm sugar, coconut honey and coconut jaggery.
