Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who remained a mute witness to the harassment of woman MLAs in the Legislative Assembly is a shame to cultural Kerala, Jameela Prakasham, MLA, has alleged.

The Kovalam MLA was addressing a public meeting organised by woman’s organisations attached to the Left parties at Aranmula on Saturday, in protest against the alleged harassment of woman MLAs in the Assembly on March 13.

Ms. Jameela said she had undergone three major surgeries on her back and leg and had little option other than biting K. Sivadasan Nair, MLA, to release herself from his tight grip. Ms. Prakasham said she had already complained against Mr. Nair to the Speaker and the Speaker was bound to take necessary action. If the Speaker failed to act against Mr. Nair, that too was liable for punishment, she said.
