Centre sanctions Rs. 21 cr for dairy development in Kerala

The Central has cleared six projects costing a total of Rs. 21 crore for dairy development in the State.

Of this, Rs. 5.4 crore is for the modernisation of Thiruvananthapuram Cooperative Milk Producers Union and Rs. 1.68 crore is for development of Ernakulam Cooperative Milk Producers Union.

The Centre also sanctioned Rs. 7 crore for development of the veterinary hospitals in the State. The other projects cleared by the Centre are for modernisation of Kerala Feeds Limited, control of foot and mouth disease among cattle and computerisation of Department of Animal Husbandry.

The State will also get an assistance of Rs. 6 crore additionally under the National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding.
