: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre has failed to reach the benefits that it claims to have achieved during its two-year rule to the common people, said CITU national president A.K. Padmanabhan.
Mr. Padmanabhan was speaking after inaugurating the 37th State meet of the National Federation of Postal Employees at the Comrade P. Balakrishnan Nagar (St Stephen’s auditorium) here on Sunday.
Manipulated accounts
He alleged that the Narendra Modi government was deceiving the people by placing manipulated balance sheets and accounts before them. The CITU leader said the gvernment should tell the people where the revenue it had collected through the frequent petrol/diesel hikes have gone. The government had failed to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission even after six months of its submission, he alleged.
Mr. Padmanabhan said Union government employees would strike work from September in protest against the government’s indifference to their needs.
P. Karunakaran, MP and NFPE State chairman, presided over the inaugural function. The NFPE State meet will come to a close on Tuesday.
