July 12, 2013 01:20 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:58 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has offered to appoint an expert team to review the CCTV footage of his office in connection with the solar scam.

In a letter to Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday, the Chief Minister said former chief executive officer of Technopark G. Vijayaraghavan; Achuthsankar S. Nair of the Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Kerala; and an expert named by the CPI(M) could be members of the committee.

He was proposing the formation of the committee as Opposition leaders were repeatedly demanding release of the CCTV footage of his office in connection with the solar scam. Though he had stated that the recordings were not kept beyond 14 days for want of storage space, the Opposition was demanding to see the recordings of visitors dating back by a year.

He reiterated that the live webcast from his office and chamber was not being stored.
