A special session of the Kerala Assembly will be held on June 8 to discuss the implications of the notification issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change banning sale of cattle for slaughter at animal markets.
A special meeting of the State Cabinet took the decision to hold the special session.
The Cabinet had on Thursday decided to explore various possibilities to counter the Central move, including convening of a special session of the House.
The State government is also planning to approach courts and explore the possibility of holding a meeting of Chief Ministers to discuss the implications of the notification.
