Campaigning picks up in Kollam seat

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will campaign for Premachandran on April 4.

JSS leader K.R. Gouri will campaign for three days in the Kollam Lok Sabha constituency for Left Democratic Front candidate M.A. Baby from April 1.

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and CITU all-India president A.K. Padmanabhan will campaign for Mr. Baby on Sunday. He will start the campaign from the plantation sector areas under the Punalur Assembly segment and also address meetings at Chidara, Nilamel, and Paripally.

CPI national executive member C. Divakaran will campaign for Mr. Baby on Monday at Chavara, Kollam, Eravipuram, Kundara, Chathannur, and Chadayamangalam. Mr. Baby will do first round campaigning in the Kollam Assembly segment on Sunday.

On Saturday, MLAs K.T. Jaleel and Suresh Kurup addressed election campaign meetings for Mr. Baby at various locations in the constituency. Mr. Baby campaigned in the Eravipuram Assembly segment.

UDF campaign

Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi will on Sunday campaign for UDF candidate in Kollam N.K. Premachandran. He will address an election campaign meeting at Punalur at 3 p.m., Chathannur at 5 p.m., Eravipuram at 6 p.m., and at Kollam at 6.30 p.m.

Defence Minister A.K. Antony will campaign for Mr. Premachandran on April 6 and 7. Mr. Antony will speak at Punalur at 5 p.m. on April 6, Chadayamangalam at 6.30 p.m., Chathannur at 7.15 p.m., Eravipuram at 7.45 p.m., and at Kollam 8.15 p.m. On April 7, he will speak at Chavara at 11.45 a.m. and at Kundara at 12.30 p.m.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will campaign for Mr. Premachandran on April 4, beginning Vaddy Beach in Kollam at 9 a.m., Chavara at 11 a.m., Eravipuram at 3 p.m., Kundara at 3.45 p.m., Chathannur at 4.45 p.m., Chadayamangalam at 5.45 p.m., and Punalur at 6.45 p.m. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will campaign in the constituency on April 7.
