The Yogakshema Sabha has called upon the Centre and the State government to ensure adequate protection to the treasures at Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram.

In a statement here on Saturday, president Akeeramon Kalidasa Bhattathirppad said the treasure trove at the temple was a testimony to the Travancore royal dynasty's sincerity and commitment to the people.

He said the treasures should be kept at the temple itself under adequate security.

Mr. Bhattathirpad said Central security forces should be deployed to ensure foolproof security arrangements at the temple, which had been identified as one of the richest places of worship in the world.
