Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Cheriyan Philip has called for revising and unifying the curriculum of the tourism courses being conducted by various universities of the State.

He said here on Thursday that the courses of some universities were theory-oriented with little importance for the practical side. Those who graduated from such universities were not able to deliver the goods. That was why many students from Kerala joined tourism courses in other places. Hoteliers of Kerala and outside were reluctant to take graduates from Kerala because of the same reason. The industry required persons who specialised in front office, housekeeping, food and beverages, food production and marketing, he added.
