The Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to take steps for the conservation of the house of legendary Communist leader A.K. Gopalan at Peralassery in Kannur district.
It asked the Department of Culture to draw up proposals for conservation of the House. The CPI (M) workers had earlier protested against the move to demolish the two-storied house by its present owner and nephew of the late leader Sadashivan.
Coconut Park:
The Cabinet also decided to take over 100 acres at Nenmeni in Mukundapuram taluk of Thrissur district for developing a coconut park on a fast track basis. The State Industries Development Corporation would be authorised to take over Manimala estate in Kuttiyadi in Kozhikode district (131 acres) for developing a coconut industrial park.
