Thiruvananthapuram The BJP will decide its candidates for the by-elections to the Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kannur Assembly constituencies in Kerala next week.

A meeting of the State leadership of the party has been slated for October 13 to finalise the candidates.

The party has directed its district units in Alapuzha, Ernakulam and Kannur to shortlist candidates to be considered by the State leadership meeting. The district committees met on Thursday for considering prospective candidates.

The party is likely to field its own candidates in all the three constituencies. However, the final decision in this regard would also be taken only at the leadership meeting. No decision has yet been taken on representation of women either, party State secretary A. N. Radhakrishnan said.
