BJP to file criminal petition

The BJP on Wednesday said the party would file a criminal petition in court to prosecute Transport Minister Thomas on suspicion of making a false declaration regarding his assets before the State Election Commission.

BJP national council member M.S. Kumar slammed the State government for “shielding” the Minister.

Mr. Kumar said the deferred government action on the District Collector’s damning report that Mr. Chandy had violated paddy land reclamation laws gave the politician considerable latitude to delay eviction and stall criminal prosecution.
