BJP jatha from May 2

April 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - KOLLAM:

The district-level campaign jatha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against alleged corruption and politics of compromise between the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) will commence from Kottarakara on May 2. The jatha will be flagged off by BJP State general secretary K. Surendran.

At a press conference here on Friday, BJP district secretary M. Sunil said that the only activity taking place under UDF rule was corruption. But the LDF which has to oppose this is maintaining a puzzling silence. The LDF is also apparently supporting the anti-people policies of the UDF government, he alleged

The politics of compromise played between the UDF and LDF has clearly come to light through the solar and liquor bar bribery agitations and also during the ruckus during the Budget presentation in the Assembly, Mr. Sunil said. On the other hand, the State government is apathetic towards implementing development projects for the State sanctioned by the BJP-led government at the Centre.

These facts have to be exposed before the people of the State and that is what is intended through the jatha, he said.
