Birth anniversary of Sanskrit scholar

The Narendra Bhushan Smaraka Prathishtapan will be celebrating the 79th birth anniversary of Sanskrit scholar Acharya Narendra Bhushan at the Maharshi Dayananda Vaidic Gurukulam in Chengannur from May 22 to 29.

Week-long fete

According to Kamala Narendra Bhushan and Vedaprakash, Prathishtanam leaders, Malayalam University Vice Chancellor K. Jayakumar will inaugurate the week-long celebrations at the Gurukulam Hall at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday. Swami Turiyamritananda Puri of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math will deliver the benedictory speech on the occasion.

Thottam Sivakaran Namboodiri, Sanskrit scholar, will deliver a lecture on Sama Veda recital in the afternoon.

Mr. Vedaprakash said the former diplomat T.P. Sreenivasan would inaugurate the valedictory meet to be held at 4 p.m. on May 29. Swami Prajnananda Theerthapadar, president of the Theerthapada Ashram at Vazhoor, will deliver the benedictory speech. Mr. Sreenivasan will present this year’s Maharshi Dayananda Puraskar to Vedic scholar, Radhakrishna Vaidik on the occasion.
