Benoy Viswom to inaugurate valedictory function of Wild Life week observance

All the arrangements have been made for the State level valedictory function of the Wild Life week observance, the organisers said in a press conference here on Tuesday. Forest Minister Binoy Viswom will inaugurate the valedictory function at the Panchayat Community hall, Sulthan Bathery in the district at 4 p.m. on Thursday. P. Krishnaprasad MLA will preside over the function. As a part of the Wild Life week observance, various programmes including awareness classes, Quiz competitions, photo exhibitions and awareness rallies were organised in 210 schools in the district, the organisers said.

The Minister will give away the prizes for the state level winners in various competitions organised by the forest department in connection with the Wild Life week observance and the ‘Ente Maram’ project.

The forest department will open a counter at the KSRTC bus stand at Sulthan Bathery to provide assistance to the participants. Food and lodging will be provided free of cost by the department for the participants of the competitions, the winners, and their parents, V.K. Sreevalsan, Wild Life Warden, Wayanad Wild Life Sanctuary said.

The Minister will also disburse cash awards for the forest personnel who have secured the Chief Minister’s award for excellence at the function.
