Balan dares CM to file case against Karim

May 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - Palakkad:

CPI(M) Central committee member A K Balan has challenge Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to register a case against former Industries Minister Elamaram Karim if he is convinced of the authenticity of the allegations raised against Mr. Karim in connection with the Malabar Cements scam.

Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, he defended Mr. Karim, saying that the party was fully convinced of his innocence in the case.

Game for probe

“The CPI(M) is not averse to investigation. The party never opposed the demand to initiate a CBI probe into the corruption cases related to Malabar Cements. The party has also maintained a position demanding a through probe into the tragic deaths of Malabar Cements company secretary Saseendran and his two sons,’’ he said.
