K.G. Bhaskaran, younger brother of former Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan, resigned from the post of Special Government Pleader for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe cases in the Kerala High Court on Friday.
Mr. Bhaskaran had gone on medical leave on Tuesday amid media reports that he had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The resignation letter was sent to Advocate-General C.P. Sudhakara Prasad through a special messenger.
According to the letter, he wanted to resign from the post on health grounds, the Advocate-General said. The letter said that doctors had advised him complete rest. Mr. Sudhakara Prasad said he had forwarded the letter to the Government Law Secretary recommending that the resignation letter be accepted.
