Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central leadership has not received the letter purported to have been shot out by veteran Marxist leader V. S. Achuthandanandan seeking to relinquish him from the post of Opposition Leader in the light of his differing stand with State party leadership on the issue of probe into the murder of Revolutionary Party leader T. P. Chandrasekharan, said party politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan.
“The latest development should be viewed as a ploy by a section of media which wanted that the party state leadership and senior party leaders in the State are having divergent views on the sensation murder issue at a time when the Left party is bracing itself up for the crucial Neyyatinkara Assembly bye-elections, Viajayan, also State Secretary of the party unit, told media persons here.
The issue (letter purported to have sent by Mr. Achuthanandan to the Central Party leadership) seeking to relinquish him of the post of Opposition Leader is a clever plot hatched by a section of media to put the party in poor light ahead of the crucial bye-elections to the Neyyatinkara Assembly segment, he told reporters in reply to a query on the contentious issue.
The vested media group could have sought the reaction from Mr. Achuthanandan about the purported letter, he said wondering as to why the media concerned was not seeking the opposition leader’s reaction on the issue.
