KSRTC will operate special buses from Alappuzha, Changanasserry and Thiruvalla to Edathua during the festival at the Saint George Forane church (Edathua pally) there.
Temporary water taps will be set up at 26 locations near the church to facilitate continuous water supply to the devotees during the festival season. The festival (perunnal) is to be celebrated from April 24 to May 14.
Prompt arrangements will be made for uninterrupted power supply to the church and its surroundings.
Special medical teams have been deputed for providing medical service to the needy.
Raids
Police and Excise departments will intensify raids to curb liquor and narcotic substances.
A ban on liquor sale in 3 km circumference area around the church has been planned during the days of the church ‘feast,’ the main festival days, according to the District Collector who reviewed the preparations for the fete.
