Arpana, a scheme sponsored by the district panchayat to prevent exploitation of trained home nurses and the public by private agencies, will be inaugurated here on March 20. The scheme will ensure properly executed agreement on services and wages.
Kudumbasree
Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, district panchayat president K.A. Sarala said that the scheme being implemented in the district in collaboration with the Kudumbasree Mission was meant to ensure that the remuneration for the services of trained home nurses would be fully available to them.
The scheme would ensure credibility of home nurses employed by the public.

The monthly wages fixed for various services include Rs.7,000-8,000 for care of children from six months to five years, Rs.10,000-12,000 for care of aged people above 60, Rs.10,000 for care of patients, Rs.8,000-Rs.10,000 for post-delivery care of mother and newborn child, Rs.600 per day for hospital assistant, and Rs.250 and Rs.400 for half-day and full-day household works respectively.
