Antony to dedicate Ayurveda medical college to the nation

Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony will dedicate the Mannam Cooperative Ayurveda Medical College complex at Pandalam to the nation at a function on the campus on November 8.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, K.M. Rajagopala Pillai, Mannam Sugar Mills Cooperative Limited chairman, and K. Thulaseedharan Nair, managing director, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy would dedicate the hospital complex of the medical college to the nation on the occasion.

Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty will lay the foundation for an Ayurvedic drug manufacturing unit and Finance Minister K.M. Mani the foundation for a college hostel building. Health Minister Adoor Prakash will distribute Ayurveda Acharya certificates to students of the first batch of the BAMS course at the college.

Nair Service Society general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair will preside over the function.

Congress Chief Whip in the Rajya Sabha P.J. Kurien will release a souvenir being brought out in connection with the dedication ceremony. Anto Antony, MP, will launch the college website on the occasion.

Chittayam Gopakumar, MLA; K. Prathapan, Pandalam grama panchayat president;, and Pandalm Sivankutty, Mannam Sugar Mills Cooperative Limited director; will address the meeting.
