Union Minister for Defence A.K. Antony has expressed contentment over the rule of the Patiala House Court of Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which dismissed the petition by the Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy to make Home Minister P. Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, here on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters at the Government Guest House here Mr. Antony said that the court ruling had upheld what the government and the Congress party have been saying all the while about the role of Mr. Chidambaram in the Spectrum scam.

“We have been repeatedly saying that Mr. Chidambaram was guiltless and he was only discharging his duty as the finance minister of the country then,” said Mr. Antony.

“I am happy that the court has approved our stand,” he added.
