The annual ten-day Thirukodiyettu festival of Anandawalleshwaram Mahedevar Temple will begin on Friday with the traditional Nirmalyadarshanam at 5 a.m. The festival flag will be hoisted between 8.15 a.m. and 8.40 a.m. followed by the traditional ‘kanji sadya’.
Programmes
Temple committee general secretary Jayakumar Gopinath said there would be cultural programmes comprising dance, dramas, and music programmes on all days of the festival. The Pallivetta ritual will be held on April 4 and Aratu on the final day on April 5. The Aratu Ezhunallathu will commence at 4 p.m. and the colourful Aratu Ethirelpu at 5 p.m., followed by the Kettukazhcha ritual and a pyrotechnic display.
