Ambulance service launched

Minister for Labour Shibu Baby John, along with Kollam bishop Stanley Roman, launched the Ashakiranam ambulance service of the Quilon Social Service Society (QSSS) here on Monday.

The ambulance has been donated by the Kerala State Financial Enterprises under the corporate social responsibility scheme of the company.

The QSSS is the charity wing of the Kollam diocese.

QSSS director Fr. Paul Mallier said the new facility would be mainly utilised to transport deserving cancer and kidney patients from Kollam to Thiruvananthapuram.
