The Ambalapuzha Petta Thullal party began its journey for the historic Erumeli Petta Thullal and ‘Makara Jyothi darshanam’ from the Sree Krishna Temple at Ambalapuzha here early this morning.
The party, comprising over 300 pilgrims, had been following special rituals and offering prayers for the last 52 days and on Sunday too, the journey began after traditional prayers, rituals and ‘Nirmalyadarshanam’ at the historic Ambalapuzha temple.
The group, led by ‘Samooha Periyon’ Kalathil Chandrasekharan Nair, will en route be accorded ceremonial receptions at over 70 temples before reaching the Manimalakkavu Devi temple, where after the ‘Aazhi Pooja’, it will proceed to Erumeli to reach there on January 11.
The petta thullal will be on January 12, after which the group will participate in the ‘Pampa Sadya’ and ‘Pampa Vilakku’. This will be followed by proceeding to the Sannidhanam for ‘darshanam’. The pilgrimage will wind up on January 16.
