Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said “that all the culprits involved in the gruesome murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T.P. Chandrasekhar will be brought before the law irrespective of their political connections.”
Talking to press persons here on Tuesday the Minister said that the Government will not show any political discrimination while probing this shocking murder of a political leader of Onchiyam. The Government consider it as a brutal murder that shocked the entire people of the State and all those responsible for it will be booked, he said.
He said that “the investigation of the case is going in the right direction and the most efficient police officers are heading the investigation team. The government is happy about the progress of the investigation and hoped that all those involved in the murder will be brought before the law.”
When asked about some of the accused hiding in `party villages’ in the State the Minister said that “the Government is not concerned about the political affinity or protection given to the accused. As far as the Government was concerned a murderer is a murderer and his political belief does not matter in bringing the culprits to book,” the Home Minister asserted.
He said that the police force will be modernized and more vehicles will be provided for their mobility.
He said that the senior citizens living alone in their houses will be provided special protection. The close circuit TV system will be used to monitor their houses. The system will also be used to monitor vacant houses.
The scheme was implemented in Kasargod. It will be implemented in Kochi from May 25. The system will be used in other parts of the State too, the Home Minister said.
Earlier inaugurating the Palakkad Taluk Building and Road Workers Co-operative Society here the Minister said that though the co-operative movement has a key role in the development of the State there are some wrong trends reflected in its working. The co-operative sector should be used for the welfare of the people. But there are attempts to use the co-operative sector for parochial interests. This is a very wrong step by certain political forces that goes against the interest of the people and the State, Mr. Radhakrishnan said.
