The UDF has made all preparations for ‘Padayorukkam,’ the one-month campaign led by Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala from November 1 from Kumbala in Kasaragod district.

At a press meet here on Monday, Mr. Chennithala said UDF workers had already started house visits to mobilise one crore signatures protesting against the ‘anti-people’ policies of the Central and State governments. Congress Working Committee member A.K. Antony will flag off the campaign. Karnataka Ministers Ramanath Rai and U.C. Khader will participate in the inaugural function. The UDF will observe ‘black day’ on November 8, the anniversary of high-value currency demonetisation. UDF workers will wear black badges and hold protest demonstrations in all local bodies, coinciding with the campaign’s arrival in Kozhikode, which will host a rally attended by JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav and Congress leader P. Chidambaram.
