The 15th conference of the Executive Steering Group of air forces of India and the United States of America began at the Southern Air Command Headquarters here on Monday.
A 13-member U.S. Air Force delegation, led by the Commander of 13 Air Force Lieutenant General Herbert J. Carlisle, is attending the three-day conference. Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal P.K. Barbora leads the 16-member Indian Air Force delegation to the conference.
The conference will discuss policies and mutual exchanges relating to defence cooperation between the air forces of the two countries, an official release said. Indo-US exchange of subject matter experts would be one of the topics coming up for discussion.
The annual conference is held alternatively in the United States and India. Last year's meeting, held at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, reviewed joint and combined training events. This is the first time that the conference is held at the Southern Air Command Headquarters.
