AI plane makes emergency landing at Kochi airport

Air India flight IC-509 bound for Chennai from Kochi via Bangalore was grounded for about 15 minutes after it was airborne at 7.05 a.m on Tuesday with the aircraft crew reporting engine trouble.

The flight had 42 passengers on board, who were later accommdated in other flights bound for Bangalore and Chennai.

Airline authorities have pressed into service a relief aircraft for the return flight.

They said the aircraft would be repaired immediately be able to fly to Sharjah in the evening.
