AI pilot notices engine failure, averts accident before take off

An Air India flight heading for Dubai aborted take off from Karipur airport near here on Monday following engine failure.

The flight AI 937 had to abort its take off at the last moment when the pilot noticed engine failure. There were 173 passengers on board, according to Air India officials.

Airport sources said an accident was averted as the engine failure was detected while moving for take off.

The flight returned to the tarmac, and the passengers were offloaded. Air India officials said they were working out alternatives to carry the passengers.
