S.A. Chandrasekhar, Tamil director-producer and actor Vijay’s father, was admitted to a private hospital here on Wednesday after he was injured when he slipped and fell at a resort in Kumarakom on Wednesday. Hospital authorities said his condition is stable and satisfactory.
According to Aneez Mustapha Malekkudy, neurologist, he was brought to the hospital with head and back injuries. An MRI scan showed that the spinal chord was injured. However, his movements are not impaired now. But he has complained of pain and lack of sensation.
He has been admitted to the intensive care unit and is under medication, he said.
Mr. Chandrasekhar was staying at a resort at Kumarakom. According to Dr. Malekkudy, he had fallen on to the ground while coming out of the bathroom.
