A note of thanks to Karnataka CM from Pinarayi

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah thanking him for providing the necessary security and logistical support for making his visit and programmes successful and memorable.

The letter points out that the RSS and allied organisations kicked up a controversy over the visit and issued a statement that Mr. Vijayan would not be allowed to attend the public function at Mangaluru.

“Such a shocking stand taken by these organisations reveal their underlining fascist tenor and is totally against the spirit of democracy which we all cherish and nurture in our country,” the letter noted.

Mr. Vijayan noted that though he as a person and his party as an organisation had defied such threats and taken on such challenges head-on, the present circumstances wherein he was occupying a constitutional office prevented him from responding in kind to such threats.

“I am happy to note that Karnataka government under your leadership has risen to the occasion and determinedly intervened to ensure that the functions could be organised peacefully,” the letter adds.
