Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the government intends to transform Kerala into a manufacturing hub with special focus on electronic hardware manufacturing.

In a FB post after receiving the report of the Hardware Mission headed by Jayasankar Prasad here on Monday, the Chief Minister said the Mission had submitted its report indicating Kerala’s potential to leverage its strengths in human resources, promotion of the State’s startup ecosystem and the need for a proactive policy to establish a manufacturing hub in electronics and related hardware.

Mr. Vijayan said the possibility of a power electronics cluster in the State was being explored. An MoU with Intel and UST Global for exploring the potential for establishing PC and Server manufacturing in the State was on the anvil. Once feasibility was established, a joint venture involving the government and the private players would be established.
