Law academy to challengevarsity order in court

January 29, 2017 09:01 pm | Updated 09:01 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The Kerala Law Academy Law College will challenge in the High Court of Kerala the directive of the Syndicate of the University of Kerala debarring academy Principal P. Lekshmi Nair from examination-related work for the next five years.

A member of the academy governing council told The Hindu on Sunday that the report prepared by the Syndicate committee that probed the allegations raised by the students was highly one-sided and arbitrary in nature.

“The order was a hastily prepared one. It was prepared after just hearing the complaints raised by the students. Whatever allegations the students had raised, the committee found to be true. Our take on these issues is not reflected in the report,” the council member said.

The Syndicate on Saturday had also directed that the academy Principal be kept away from all internal assessment and internal assignment activities for the next five years.
