AIE to link State capital and Kozhikode

Air India Express (AIE), the country’s premier international budget airline, is to commence daily flights in the Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode-Thiruvananthapuram sector from January 15.

The maiden flight linking the State capital and the third major city of the State will be from Kozhikode on January 15. In the Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode sector, the first flight will be on January 16.

Flight IX 373 on the Thiruvananthapuram–Kozhikode sector will depart from here at 7 a.m. to reach Kozhikode at 7.55 a.m. and will proceed to Doha as international flight. In the return direction, flight IX 374 coming from Doha will depart Kozhikode at 10.50 p.m. to arrive in Thiruvananthapuram at 11.45 p.m.

The AIE, headquartered in Kochi, is offering an introductory fare of ₹2,300 in the sector. The airline has a fleet of 23 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft that can fly 189 passengers.

The airline has announced facilities to book tickets through Net banking, in addition to the existing credit/debit card- based online payment mode. In addition to the complimentary tea, coffee and meals offered on board, the AIE recently launched the facility for flyers to buy a special meal of their choice online.
