Six members of a pilgrim group returning from Velankanni were killed when the van they were travelling in collided with a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus at Devadanapatti, 27 km from Theni on Monday evening.
The victims were identified as Mullanickal Babu, Vettukattil Ajeesh, Padalamkunnel Moncy, Ottalankal Shine, Kariparambil Binu, and Venmani resident Justin.
Two injured
Two persons who were seriously injured were admitted to a nearby government hospital, reports here said.
The vehicle was completely damaged in the impact of the collision.
The bodies of the victims were kept at the Government Medical College Hospital, Theni.
