Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager and chairman of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee Piyush Agarwal has said that the division has recorded a growth of 45 per cent in all spheres so far this fiscal with an overall earnings of Rs.564 crore compared to the previous year.
Presiding over a meeting of the consultative committee here on Monday, he said that an additional sleeper coach and two general coaches had been added to train no. 16518/16517 Kannur-Yeshvantpur-Kannur Express from December 2.
Also, an additional sleeper coach had been added temporarily to train no. 16349/16350 Thiruvananthapuram-Nilambur Rajyarani Express. He said that 23 experimental stoppages provided in up to January 2013 had been extended till June 2013.
Computerised Passenger Reservation Centres had been opened at Mukkam and Mannarkkad during September and October this year under the MP’s PRS scheme. Three more reservation centres would be opened shortly, he said. Additional Divisional Railway Manager Mohan A. Menon, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K.P.
