3,960 litres of wash destroyed

An Excise team from Ranni has destroyed 3,960 litres of wash, besides seizing a wide range of brewing implements and vessels at a raid conducted at Muthalavaram on the banks of the Kakkattar, near Maniyar, on Tuesday.

According to official sources, the raid was on the basis of an anonymous phone call received by Ranni Excise Circle Inspector Mohankumar.

Seizure

The raid party seized 60 large tins used for stocking the wash, 6 barrels, 35 plastic cans, brewing vessels, stove, and so on.

Reghunathan Achari, A.G. Prakash, Sub-Inspectors; M. Aziz, N. Praveen, P.N. Sreekumar, Anil M. Shekhar and A.R. Sajikumar, all preventive officers, were the other members of the raid party.
