Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) conducted a training programme in seedling production for the coordinators of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme on Friday.
The programme was aimed at ensuring the production of two crore saplings under Haritha Keralam project. The Haritha Keralam Mission envisages planting of two crore saplings on June 5, 2018. The KAU Directorate of Extension has undertaken the responsibility to familiarise MGNREGS district coordinators in seedling production and nursery management. They will, in turn, train a pool of workers, who will produce the required number of seedlings.
