More than 1.26 lakh candidates are scheduled to write the engineering-medical entrance examinations which would be held from April 22 to 25 at 291 centres in Kerala, New Delhi and Dubai.
While 1,08,920 candidates are scheduled to appear for the engineering entrance examinations to be held on April 22 and 23, 67,092 candidates will write the medical entrance examinations (except for MBBS and BDS) scheduled for April 24 and 25.
There would be 288 examination centres in Kerala, two in New Delhi, and one in Dubai.
A press note issued here by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations said 49,080 candidates were scheduled to appear for both the engineering and medical entrance examinations.
Ernakulam would host the maximum number of candidates for the entrance examinations - 14,360. The maximum number of candidates for the medical entrance - 9,480 - would be from Thiruvananthapuram, which would host 13,360 candidates for the engineering entrance examinations.
While 680 candidates would appear for the engineering entrance at the two centres in New Delhi, 180 candidates were expected to appear for the medical entrance tests from this centres.
At the lone centre in Dubai, 260 candidates were expected to appear for the engineering entrance and 32 for the medical entrance.
All arrangements were in place for the smooth conduct of the examinations, the press note said and added that close to 10,000 personnel of different departments would be deployed for this purpose.
