11 ambulances for endosulfan victims

June 22, 2014 01:19 am | Updated 01:22 am IST - Kasaragod:

With an objective to further streamlining the medical facilities for ailing endosulfan victims, services of 11 new ambulances will be pressed into service within two months, K.P. Mohanan, Kerala Minister of Agriculture, has said.

It has also been decided to earmark funds to purchase requisite medicines for the affected victims by August, Mr. Mohanan said, presiding over the district-level endosulfan rehabilitation cell meeting at the district planning committee conference hall here on Saturday.

The Minister assured to sort out issues pertaining to BUDS special school for the differently-abled endosulfan victims by taking up the matter with the Social Welfare Minister on June 26.

The Minister’s assurance comes amid complaints that BUDS school in the district lacks basic amenities.
