The District-level Food Advisory Committee her has decided to open 10 fair price in different parts of the district.
According to official sources, the proposed fair price hotels would be opened at Kumbazha, Mylapra, Pathanamthitta, Konni, Thiruvalla, Pandalam, Kozhencherry, Adoor, Ranni and Mallappally.
The committee meeting held at collectorate conference hall here on Thursday has decided to provide meals at the rate of Rs 18 through these hotels.
Stern measures would be initiated to check fleecing of people at various shops and eateries. Joint squads of various departments would be constituted to conduct surprise inspections at shops and eateries.
Additional District Magistrate, H.Salimraj, presided the meeting.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, P.K.Jagadeesh, District Supply Officer, M.P.Chandrakumar, Mr Mundappally Thomas, Mr C.Shahul Hameed and Taluk Supply Officers in the district also attended the meeting.
